Former Teachers of Phillips

December 4, 2009 - A Christmas Breakfast was sponsored by the NC Chapter of the Phillips/Bricks Alumni Association at the Doubletree Hotel, Rocky Mount.  Approximately 50 or more were in attendance, including three former teachers of Phillips School.  The former teachers were invited as guest for the event and were honored with a gift and appreciation for their service to Phillips and their students.

Canned goods were also collected for the area food drive.

PHILLIPS HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI PARTICIPATED IN THE PRINCEVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE AND THE PINETOPS CHRISTMAS PARADE  ON DECEMBER 4 ALONG WITH OTHER  MEMBERS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF BLACK HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI (NCABHSA).  PARTCIPATION IN THESE AND OTHER AREA PARADES WILL BE AN ANNUAL EVENT TO GIVE A PRESENCE TO OUR HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS AND THE HISTORY AND LEGACY OF THE FORMER AFRICAN AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOLS.
